Moral Injury of Healthcare Endorses H.R. 7153

February 14, 2024 — This morning, the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Health will hold a legislative hearing titled "Legislative Proposals to Support Patients and Caregivers.”

There are 19 bills slated for discussion at today's hearing. Among them is H.R. 7153, the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act, which saves lives and protects livelihoods.

Ahead of the hearing, Wendy Dean, CEO and co-founder of Moral Injury of Healthcare, issued the following statement:

Moral Injury of Healthcare supports reauthorizing the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act as a bold, necessary statement of solidarity with a workforce in crisis. Too often, we take our health workforce for granted until we desperately need them. Yet, when we take care of them, we ensure that patients have access to optimal care and health systems can thrive.
